Highlights of the Millenium to date…

To start this new blog, a summary from the last decade. After this, I’ll post stuff occasionally as it happens.

In the last few years I have enjoyed…

Singing and playing organ regularly in Canberra, at St John’s Church and various RSCM events. Entering composition competitions and hearing my pieces performed…

Singing in some big choirs, performing some big works I’d always wanted to do… Bach’s St John Passion (2007) and St Matthew Passion (2012) with Canberra’s Llewellyn Choir… Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana with Canberra Combined Choirs and the Canberra Symphony Orchestra in 2008, and again just a few weeks later at the Sydney Opera House with World Projects Music Festival…!

Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with Canberra Combined Choirs and the Canberra Symphony Orchestra in 2009… Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius (2010) and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis (2011) with Chorus Oz at the Sydney Opera House…

Joining with a group of Canberra choristers in 2012 to sing the challenging Mass for Double Choir by Frank Martin, at St Paul’s, Manuka, under the direction of Joseph Nolan, musical director of St George’s Cathedral, Perth.

Attending the RSCM 2011 Summer School in Bathurst, NSW, under the direction of Matthew Owens, Director of Music at Wells Cathedral, England… and the RCO St Giles Summer School for Organists in London, 2011…

…and there’s so much more to do – the Millenium’s barely begun!
